Hot, Mysterious, and Dignified ~Amane's Primagi~ is the 14th episode of the Waccha Primagi! anime. It aired in Japan on TV Tokyo on January 16, 2022.

Summary[]

"Amane-sama is in trouble!" Amane's magician partner, Patano, states, as she interrupts Matsuri and the others' preparations for training camp. All of them are surprised by this unexpected situation, but they head to Amane's school with Patano, who is crying for help. There, Amane is preparing for the ceremony to celebrate the departure of Midoriko, the former student council president and Amane's Primagi master. The group is relieved to see her as her normal self, but Amane makes a shocking statement to them. She said that after she performs in Primagi for Midoriko, she will retire from Primagi altogether!

Synopsis[]

Patano witnesses a surprising display between Amane and a classmate. In a panic, she rushes to locate the others, who are chatting about their upcoming training camp. She crash lands on Myamu and while Matsuri gives her treatment, Hina introduces Patano to them as Amane's partner. Miruki isn't impressed that 'Prince Amane' would have her of all things- but Patano dreams of one day becoming a magnificent and regal partner more worthy of her. She goes on to reveal -through drawing- what happened earlier, but because of how confused they are the girls decide just to pay a visit to Amane's school. Except for Myamu, who is still reeling from earlier.

The girls go in through disguise, sneaking in together once they locate her in the auditorium surrounded by a bunch of girls. She finishes playing the piano and prepares to leave, and the girls instantly go into formation in order to avoid being detected. Patano worriedly observes the entire time as the girls quietly follow Amane around the school. Witnessing as she helps a shy school-mate with the painting she's working on for Midoriko and are forced to go into another formation- this time a flower painting. Amane also paints a large sign, puts together a large floral piece, and even carves a statue of Midoriko.

In the council room, Amane is writing as her assistant goes over their schedule tomorrow, including the farewell ceremony for Midoriko. Everything she did today will be presented to her tomorrow. The girls are forced to go into yet another formation as Amane is leaving the office- and it turns out that she was onto them the entire time. She has them come inside and they apologize, explaining that Patano was worried about her so they wanted to make sure she was okay. They ask to know more about Midoriko, and Amane explains that she is the 'Premiere Etoile' of the school- a special title of respect just for her. She was also her Primagi mentor. Matsuri is excited hearing this and she expresses an interest in getting to see her perform, but Amane reveals she has chosen to retire from performing in order to stay abroad. Because of her decision, she has also chosen to quit performing as well. The girls are shocked as she goes on to recall how they met. Sometime back, Midoriko surprised everyone when she suddenly joined them in the middle hall and appointed Amane her successor. Amane only made it this far because of her, and on top of that, seeing them fight so aggressively made her realize she doesn't share the same dream. She asks the girls to leave as its beginning to get late.

At the park, the group sadly wonders if Amane really wants to quit Primagi. Lemon admits that she admired the strength she has regarding the retirement and Matsuri agrees, recalling how miserable she felt back when she considered quitting. Hina refuses to believe Amane is truly happy though, and she returns to her school in order to confront her about it.

Amane thinks back to when she performed for the first time, and when Midoriko gave her the glasses she wears now. Hina joins her in the office and bluntly compliments her acting ability, and try as she might to deny it, she can tell Amane is upset about the whole thing. She tells her that she should do something before she makes a hasty decision she'll regret, which causes Amane to remark on the expectant stare of hers. The very same one everyone else gives her, but Midoriko wasn't like that. She stood by her side, their eyes didn't meet but they were looking in the same direction. But one day, the Midoriko she knew vanished, and she's been alone on stage this entire time. Hina tries to say more, but she asks her not to and that she leaves her alone for the time being. Hina agrees, but she is convinced Amane will come to her senses.

At Amane's room Patano is weeping as she looks at everything she's made for Amane since they met, packing it all up. Amane arrives to see this and begins to smile, joining Patano to reveal her plans of performing for the farewell party. Patano is very happy, but points out how late it is to prepare something like this at short notice, but she calms down as Amane reminds her of the phrase Midoriko taught her.

The following day Midorko is approached by Amane's assistant with an invitation to the performance. Amane stops by Prism Stone and she gets ready as the performance room fills. Matsuri, Miruki and Lemon were also invited to come see but they feel disappointed knowing she plans to quit, so this will be a one-time thing. But they agree that makes it all the more special. Amane appears and the performance starts, and in the process she earns a piece of an ensemble.

Everyone applauds her performance -as Lemon cries- and Midoriko approaches Hina to ask that she give Amane something. The others head backstage as Amane puts away her brand new card and Hina arrives to hand over the letter. In it, Midoriko expresses the beauty and passion of her performance and she asks that she never forget this feeling, the very same one from the day they met. Amane goes on to reveal that she plans on continuing to perform, much to the girls' relief.
