Synopsis[]
Myamu is obsessed with the lollipop Toma gave to Matsuri, but she's too focused on Hina's performance to pay her any mind. Hina walks past Matsuri with a smile, but before she leaves Matsuri remains confident and tells Hina that her time to shine is here.
Toma is approached by Matsuri's mom and grandpa, who came to show him the souvenirs of Hina they bought. They ask if they saw each other yet and he recalls what went on. Meanwhile, Lemon is enjoying a delicious lemon drink when Miruki joins her at the table. Lemon feels nervous being alone with her but Miruki assures her its okay if she takes her time, enjoying her own drink until Lemon asks if she was sure that she made the right decision to drop out of the competition. Miruki shoots her a glare, which causes her to freeze up until Miruki goes on to explain that it would give her easy points by competing in FreshFest and earning rare ensembles. She aims to compete in the Gran Festival, and she will, but for right now she can't beat Hina and she is aware of it. She gets nothing by losing a large competition- but earning points at smaller festivals is more practical. But she wants to put all of her focus into winning the big festival, then she goes on to call Matsuri naive. It's then she notices Hanitan has gone missing.
In a large building, the soul of a rare ensemble sleeps inside of a cage. The headmistress wonders how long it will be before it awakens, and the man nearby tells her that they appear to those who strongly wish to wear them. They go on to talk about the competition and wonder who will win.
Amane helps Hina out of the medical office and remarks on her care-less attitude when it comes to things like injuries. They share a laugh as she assures her and Chimumu that she is alright, and just then Jennifer comes by to see how her ankle is doing. She compliments her performance and sees that something is bothering Hina, preparing to leave after she tells her that she should learn to love who she is. Hina stops Jennifer to ask why she suddenly dropped out of the competition since this was their last year eligible for competing. Jennifer responds that PriMagi is meant for those who have a dream.
Toma gets a drink when Hughie appears to ask him if he will be competing. He tells him that he isn't, leading Hughie to ask what his problem is then. Matsuri quickly garnered attention and she's very good at performing, so there isn't anything to worry about. Toma isn't very sure though, mentioning that this is the first, real time that she's ever been so serious about something. He then goes on to compare the coord on the nearby screen to her smile, which leads Hughie to ask if they can be friends; that special twinkle in his eye is wonderful. They exchange names and just then they hear someone nearby speaking, turning just in time for the dozing off Hanitan to fall from the top of the vending machine. Hughie catches her as Toma is startled she can talk.
Elsewhere, Miruki and Lemon are searching for Hanitan. Lemon attempts to make small talk with her- but it turns out Miruki could careless about weather. She becomes nervous again, but just then Hughie and Toma arrive with Hanitan. Miruki is instantly taken by the both of them and she takes Hanitan back, but before she can ask for their names the two take off to find seats in the audience. Carron scolds Hanitan for being reckless around a human- but Hanitan reveals that Hughie isn't one. He smelled of magic.
Myamu is helping Matsuri loosen up for her performance and she heads out to change. In the audience everyone supporting her cheers as Hina and Amane show up to join Lemon and Miruki. Matsuri stands on spot and she notices that she isn't nervous at all, but confident and ready to give it her all. She rises to the stage and puts on her performance, which is studied intently by a mysterious girl and woman from another woman. Myamu is very happy with Matsuri's performance thus far, and when Matsuri exchanges a glance with Hina she goes on to use PriMagi Illusion; and to everyone's surprise, she suddenly sprouts wings as the waccha readings spike up. But just then it vanishes, much to her and Myamu's shock as she goes on to finish her performance.
Everyone applauds for Matsuri's efforts and how well the performance went, but she feels disappointment over what happened. She, Hina and the other contestants return to stage, and with the Lookbook the headmistress releases the special ensemble spirit to see who will wear it. However, the ensemble doesn't awaken, much to everyone's confusion. Just then a brilliant flame and a phoenix appears, and it flies forward to Hina, having chosen in place of the other ensemble. She remarks that while its flame is burning, it brings the same feeling she felt this entire time, and its her desire to fly high that encourages her to keep performing. The phoenix grants her its special coord and she suddenly transforms to wear it, leaving everyone amazed as the crowd goes wild in praising Hina. The host quickly regains his composure by announcing Hina as the bearer of the flame element and winner of FreshFest. Matsuri applauds for her but she feels depressed over her loss as Myamu, Toma and her family head to another room to see her. Myamu tries to raise her spirits but she cries regardless, over the time and effort she put into this. Her mother assures her that she did wonderful, and Matsuri continues to cry.
In bed, she's unable to sleep as she looks at her Jennifer poster. Myamu joins her in bed suggesting they share for tonight, then she reveals the kitty lollipop she has with her for Matsuri. She goes on to remind her that she still has a chance to perform in the exhibition concert, they just have to keep working hard to earn more points. Matsuri doesn't think she can keep going though, and she begins to cry again as she tells Myamu that originally she was doing this for fun. But the loss she took really hurt and she isn't convinced that she is cut out for this.
The following morning, Matsuri awakens to discover Myamu is missing. She speaks with her mom and Grandpa, who haven't seen her, but to her relief she is outside. But to her alarm, Myamu isn't able to speak- all she can do is meow.
The sleeping ensemble remains in its cage in a darkened room.
