On the day of the event, Matsuri finds herself barely keeping up with Hina, whilst Hina handles it was ease. Matsuri is astonished that she can’t handle this much Primagi training without taking it very seriously. The next day, with renewed determination, Matsuri once again accompanies Hina on her training. Hina, who felt’s Matsuri’s seriousness, also takes on Matsuri with earnestness. At the end of the training, Matsuri manages to follow Hina all the way up to the top of the mountain, where she reveals her true feelings to Hina…..
Plot[]
The girls approach Amane while wondering what happened to Miruki as Hina makes her return. She asks how everything went but the girls decide not to go into detail just yet. After collecting the worn out Carron, Lemon almost lapses into another awestruck daze at the sight of Amane, which causes Matsuri to recognize her. She's been at the top of her class since she first arrived for her high popularity and skill, right next to Hina. Both girls are shocked as Amane approaches them to get to know them a little better -still holding Miruki- when Myamu asks them about the workout they were doing, considering there isn't much outside that could lend itself to such purpose. As she goes on to tell them Miruki awakens to complain, it wasn't just a "teensy bit" of cardio, but a lot. Hina then points out that she'll be getting some more training done before her upcoming performance, as it will be her last one until FreshFest.
Matsuri surprises everyone by requesting that she be allowed to join in as well, followed by Lemon -whose sudden assertiveness makes Carron very happy- and Miruki after Hina asks Amane to join them. Myamu is very displeased by the turn of events.
The following morning, Lemon, Matsuri, and Myamu arrive. Matsuri gets in some stretches and warns Myamu not to slack off or try to use magic as the others arrive- to their shock they discover that they actually got up around 5am and were out jogging.
Meanwhile, Miruki is desperately clinging to a long stick while trying to make her way to their training spot. She still feels extremely sore from the day before but she wants to see Amane, so she's going to get there one way or the other. Hani critisizes her for being so weak and assaults her, then she assigns her to write an essay and demands that she gets going, even if she must crawl the entire way.
After waiting a while for Miruki the girls decide to get started, first with ten sets of uphill sprints. She has Chimumu cast magic to summon a large burst of wind to increase its difficulty, but Myamu refuses deal with this and uses her own magic to summon a brick wall. Matsuri chastises her for this but she insists its fine, until Chimumu blasts it away with a magic summoned tornado; along with Myamu. They return inside to work on stretches, but with Amane offering to help Lemon sending her into a catatonic state Carron decides this may be enough for now and has her sit aside for observations. Hina understands, and she says goodbye to Amane when she brings up the student council tea party she has to get to.
With that training resumes, Myamu struggles the entire time but Matsuri manages to go on for a while. She collapses after being worn out, but seeing Hina keep going encourages her and she remarks on her confidence. Hina is curious about this and she asks Chimumu to increase the speed of the jump rope he used magic on. The girls are startled when Hina suddenly trips, but she gets right back up and asks to try again. This worries Matsuri as she starts to see a new, competitive side of Hina emerge as she continuously falters. She tells Matsuri that everything she accomplishes gets put in the past just as soon as she does it, for that reason she must focus on what she can't do in order to improve.
These words stick with Matsuri as the girls head for home. Myamu notices her odd mood and Matsuri admits to feeling embaressement. She thought by attending one of her training sessions that maybe she could measure up to her a little bit, but now she sees that they are in very different leagues given that her commitment for Primagi surpasses her by a significant amount. She should have taken things more seriously. Myamu reasons that Matsuri did her best though, because they aren't the same person. As evening approaches, Matsuri steps outside to find Toma and they begin to converse. She asks him if he ever feels discouraged working with her Grandpa, and he assures her that its natural. But because he loves it, he is encouraged to keep going. So the best way to rid of those feelings is just to try to sleep it off.
Matsuri takes his words to heart, and the next morning she gets up bright and early to meet Hina outside on her jog. Despite how worn out she's become, she continues to run while keeping his words in mind. Her doubts surpress themselves and she keeps going until they arrive to the top of a hill. Hina admires the scenery and morning sun before them, and Matsuri goes on to express that while she was in pain from this run, she had a lot of fun too and she realized that at the very least she can try to keep up with her. Hina expresses that Matsuri shouldn't try to follow in ones footsteps, but she should aspire to surpass them. She then goes on to bring up her performance and the girls prepare to make their way back.
Within the distance, a glowing bird floats through the sky. Hughie, standing atop of Prism Stone sees it.
At the performance hall Hina prepares while the girls meet up and get a spot. Myamu asks Miruki about the prior day and why she didn't show up, then she goes on to ask Matsuri where she went that morning. She gives her a phyllisophical response that passes over her, but when Hina arrives on stage they quiet down to watch her perform.
Afterwards, Lemon, Myamu and Matsuri head back to converse with Hina. She earns much praise but Hina asks them to rank her with points in order to see where she stands currently. Although she seems to have done well, she insists that it isn't enough and that she must keep going.
As this is going on Miruki is making her way home, and she complains over how strong of a rival Hina is. She considers dropping out of FreshFest but comes to the conclusion that what she lacks in strength is what she makes up for with her fans.
Matsuri is concerned over how well she will do at FreshFest now but Myamu assures her that it will be fine. She appears to be encouraged- but only for a second. As she continues on, leaving Myamu to chase after her, Lemon pulls out her phone to thoughtfully overlook the FreshFest page.
