Let's Do This! A Festival Stage is the 2nd episode of the Waccha Primagi! anime. It aired in Japan on TV Tokyo on October 10, 2021.

Summary

After Matsuri and Myamu's first successful Primagi, Fesrida, a member of the Primagi Executive Committee, comes to see them. Fesrida asked, "Will you continue Primagi?", to which Matsuri with determination responds, "There's no reason for me to quit!". The next day, Matsuri and Myamu go to a nearby festival site to watch Primagi. However, the cute Primagista Miruki Amauri, who was supposed to be on stage, suddenly cancels her performance! While Matsuri is disappointed, Myamu declares, "We're going to do Primagi instead".

Plot

The girls are making their way home as Matsuri admires the scenery on Myamu's broom. She listens as Myamu explains the importance of collecting extra waccha and how it grants her extra-strong magic to use- when suddenly her broom vanishes. The girls are sent plummeting to the ground but are saved by the Headmistress, who curtly remarks on how irresponsible Myamu is being. She goes on to explain that she came to speak with Matsuri's family.

At the Hibino household, she introduces herself to Matsuri's mom and grandpa to bring up their recent joining of Primagi. They had no idea she was planning on doing this, and the Headmistress mentions that while Matsuri isn't a professional, she appears to be a natural at it and if they allow it, she can continue to perform. Matsuri eagerly declares that she would never turn down such an opportunity like this and her family is nothing but encouraging, although they don't know what Primagi is. Their banter following this leads Miss Fesrida to comment on the unusual family she's come to see, and Myamu goes on to invite herself into the Hibino household, as she won't have a place to stay while there. The family is surprised but more than welcoming, and the girls step outside to see the Headmistress off. She reminds Myamu to behave herself and to avoid letting normal people see her use magic, or else she faces punishment.

Despite the threat Myamu quickly resumes using magic once in Matsuri's bedroom. She levitates a cup, which then breaks. Matsuri is disappointed because she liked this cup, but she perks up fairly quick and they are called for dinner. Myamu is delighted by how delicious everything is and Matsuri's grandpa suggests they have a special dinner for tomorrow, to celebrate Myamu joining them. Mrs. Hibino reminds him that he has the festival to deal with tomorrow though. Matsuri is so excited, because Miruki -a super-cute and popular idol- will be performing. She fawns over a photo of her but Myamu isn't impressed.

Once dinner is done they return to the bedroom and Matsuri hands Myamu some old pajamas she used to wear. Myamu dislikes the childish feel but she decides its not worth an argument and Matsuri sets up a futon for her- until Matsuri takes her bed. Matsuri says nothing and joins her on the bed, suggesting they watch some videos until they feel tired. She begins showing Myamu some cute kitty videos that she ends up finding very amusing, but after a few minutes Myamu refuses to indulge her desire for a slumber party. She uses magic to make the lights go out, which makes every light bulb in the house shatter and the Hibino's freak out thinking a ghost did it.

The following day, the girls go outside and Myamu grumpily notes her magic still isn't at its best. Matsuri attempts to encourage her but Myamu believes she is patronizing her. She goes on to suggest Matsuri try it out as she recalls the overflowing waccha from her performance; but Matsuri fails to do anything. She makes a remark and her Grandpa -who has been keeping an eye on her- electrocutes her by sending lightning through a portal. Without thinking Matsuri reaches out to her, frying them both as Toma arrives to find them on the ground. He observes the girls with curiosity when Myamu -now in cat form- speaks, but when he rubs his eyes before looking again, she's in human form.

At the festival Myamu admires the surroundings until Matsuri takes notice, causing her to claim that she only came for observation. Matsurida approaches them with Primagi-related business and after the girls note how much she resembles Fesrida, she compliments how the performance blew them away. Its then they hear some nearby staff in an uproar over Miruki being unable to make it for the performance. She's stuck in traffic because of a bull managing to make its way onto the road. As Matsuri and Matsurida remorsefully acknowledge how this could effect the running of the bulls, Myamu comes up with a solution and suggests Matsuri step onto the stage in her place so that they can collect more waccha. Matsuri is shocked, and as she takes note that everyone probably came to see Miruki, she can't imagine this going very well.

Meanwhile, the missing girl in question has shown up at the festival with a disguise. She holds onto her magical partner Hanitan while remarking that this festival's stage wasn't worth her time. The waccha collection was meager, and there aren't any cute guys around.

Matsuri begins to observe her newly obtained gold profile card, and Matsurida explains that by inserting it into the lookbook and reciting special words, one can open the magic gate leading to Prism Stone regardless of location. She warns the girls to take good care of it. Myamu is eager to start the performance but Matsuri isn't confident, because everyone came to see Miruki, not her. Myamu reasons that nobody expected Matsuri originally, but the entire crowd loved her right away so she must have some confidence in herself now. This seems to work and Matsuri uses her profile card to transform and summon her coord.

As she appears everyone is curiously observing the name change on the stage and they wonder what happened, while Miruki observes from the back to see who is replacing her. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hibino worries for her daughter while her grandpa and Toma remain confident that she will be fine. With that the performance starts, everyone cheering her on while Miruki remains unimpressed until she sees the large burst of waccha overflowing the performance hall. Matsuri gains a new piece of coord and everyone cheers for her, her mom and grandpa in awe over how well she did.

After the festival Matsuri happily remarks on the waccha she collected. Myamu is unimpressed considering how nervous she was originally, but she becomes flustered when Matsuri goes on to say that when she's with her, she feels unstoppable. Myamu uses her magic to summon a chair for Matsuri so that she may relax for a bit, but she drops it when they hear someone approach them. Matsuri is starstruck realizing its Miruki, who brings up having seen her performance. She then asks Matsuri for her coord card, and while Matsuri is all to happy to hand it over, Myamu quickly tries to stop her. Miruki reasons that she should have earned it as it was meant to be her performance as Myamu attempts to snap Matsuri out of her daze. Just then, they hear a girl laughing from the tree above them and she hops down, remarking on how much fun they seem to be having. She introduces herself as Hina Yayoi, and Matsuri fawns over her in admiration recognizing her name. Her hamster partner lands on Myamu's head to introduce himself too. With that, Hina suggests they put on a performance together.
