Sophy Hojo (北条そふぃ Hōjō Sofi) is one of the main characters of PriPara and is a 9th grader attending Paprika Private Academy. She is a cool-type idol, and her preferred brand is Holic Trick. She has a weak body, but with the use of a pickled plum she snaps out of "Fancy Mode" to become a professional idol.
Appearance[]
Sophy is tall with fair skin and purple curved eyes. Her long magenta hair ends at her waist with straight cut bangs and forelocks. Initially when in "Fancy Mode" her hair appears to be messier and she would wear a grey sweatsuit, but since joining Units with Mirei and Laala, she began to take care of her physical image and strengthen herself, gaining a single cowlick instead.
Personality[]
Sophy is very popular at her school, and admired by many of the students. When she eats a Red Flash (pickled plum), her personality changes. Her public personality is cool and on top of things, while her other personality (Fancy Mode) is extremely disoriented and directionless. While she is in her Fancy Mode, she says "Pushu~" a lot. In Fancy Mode, she is quite naive and oblivious to what is around her, but Sophy happens to be perceptive, picking up on tiny details others would normally miss.
Since when she began forming her friendship with Laala and Mirei, she has been working to improve herself.

Etymology[]
Hōjō (北条): Hōjō can be split up into two. The hō means north, while the jō means lines. It can be roughly translated into northern line. This can be considered a pun as Laala and Mirei's last names translates to center and south respectively, while she is north.
Sophy (そふぃ): The name Sophy is a normal western name. It originates from the Greek name Sofia, which means wisdom.
Trivia[]
- Sophy is the oldest out of her friends and unit-mates.
- She is the third oldest main character as Hibiki is a grade above her and is the only high schooler and Ajimi is in her mid to late 20's.
- In episode 1, it was mentioned that Sophy debuted when she was little at another school. She transferred over to Paprika Private Academy afterwards.
- Sophy is the only idol to have performed without a Making Drama.
- Sophy performed an incomplete Making Drama in episode 11.
- Sophy and her sister live in Pride Tower Hills, on floor number 33, in apartment number 3333.
- Sophy lives in the same apartment building as Hibiki.
- She likes roses.
- She tends to call her fans Little Caged Birds (籠の小鳥ちゃんたち Kago no kotorichan-tachi).
- Her name (Sophy) based on the fifth note of the Solfège scale.
- In Episode 9, it was revealed that if she eats something sweet, she'll revert back to Fancy Mode.
