Mirei Minami (南みれぃ Minami Mirei) is one of the main characters of PriPara. She is an 8th grader at Paprika Private Academy and head disciplinarian. She is a pop-type idol, and her preferred brand is Candy Alamode. Her catchphrase is "Pop, Step, Get You!" (ポップ・ステップ・ゲッチュー！ Poppu Suteppu Getchū!) and she tends to end her sentences with "~pri".
Appearance[]
Normally, Mirei has long light brown hair worn in a high ponytail with straight bangs and thin forelocks. She wears glasses over her matching colored eyes.
In PriPara, Mirei's eyes turn blue and she doesn't need glasses. Her wavy hair turns blonde with a small amount left loose, the remainder wrapped to form a pair of conical buns usually decorated with bows.
Personality[]
Mirei is a smart and studious girl who happens to be very good at puzzles. She is very serious and strict with rules, even if they don't make much sense to others. Her catchphrases are "Keisandoori" (計算どおり), meaning "Just as calculated", "Keisangai" (計算外), meaning "miscalculated.", and "Pop, Step, Get You!".
Due to her analytical and stern personality, she is the captain of Paprika Private Academy's disciplinary committee. She appears to have a great admiration for things "pop". Her idol character was purposely based around this concept and was fine-tuned to be appealing to the fans. In PriPara she is easy-going and perky, but when her competitive side comes out she can act bossy and demanding.

Etymology[]
Minami (南) translates to south.
Mirei (みれぃ) - It is a common name for Japanese girls, which mostly written in kanji "美玲".

- She shares her birthday with Toma Ibuki from Waccha Primagi!.
- Reona, Dorothy, Sion, Fuwari and Mirei are the only known 8th graders in the series.
- Along with Laala, Mirei is one of the only known main characters to have a different look in PriPara.
- She is the first character to have a completely different look.
- Mirei is the only main character in PriPara known to share a voice actress with someone from Pretty Rhythm, and the character she shares her voice actress with is Ann Fukuhara.
- She also shares her voice actress with Chuppe from Idol Time PriPara, as well as Anna Akagi from Kiratto Pri☆Chan.
- Mirei shares similar traits with Ann Fukuhara:
